About Snapshot 20/20

Meredith College is pleased to announce Snapshot 20/20, a symposium to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment. We will kick off the event with a keynote address on April 2, 2020 and offer concurrent panels and a range of activities with our community partners through April 5, 2020. Snapshot 20/20 will foster international and interdisciplinary scholarship and conversations focused on the social, economic, and political status of women and girls around the globe from 1920 to 2020.

Feminist activism, Social activism, Women's rights, Women's studies, Women empowerment, Women’s histories in heritage spaces and public history: reflections and methodologies, Social citizenship, Political activism, Politics and political science, Status of women and girls

Call for Papers

As we commemorate this milestone in women's history, we invite scholars and students to submit papers and projects on a wide range of topics including global women’s rights and status, gender identification, issues of citizenship and activism, social welfare policy, and democracy more broadly. Individual papers, full panels, round tables, and other presentations are welcome. 

Submit the title of your paper or panel, your abstract of up to 250 words, and your resume or CV to the committee using our Google Form (accessible on the website) and send your inquiries to symposium@meredith.edu. 

The deadline for paper submission is January 15, 2020.
