Rapid development and inappropriate conservation techniques are threatening many heritage unique sites in different parts of world. This conference aims to provide the knowledge required to formulate regulatory policies, to ensure effective ways of preserving the architectural heritage. The meeting addresses a series of topics related to the historical aspects and the reuse of heritage buildings, as well as technical issues on the structural integrity of different types of buildings, such as those constructed with materials as varied as iron and steel, concrete, masonry, wood or earth.

The aim of the conference is to outline the actual involvement of Jews and activists of Jewish origin in the leftist movements of the 19th and 20th centuries from the perspective of individual motivations, ideological choices and personal biographies.

Call for papers | Conference: The New Dawn of Europe after the Great War: the Theory of the State and Genocide in the 20th Century

The conference is open to individual and group paper presentations. Those willing to present their papers are invited to submit their abstracts before October 31, 2019. The selected abstracts will be communicated to their authors in October-November 2019.

On November 21st and 22nd 2019 CIVITAS (Forum of Archives and Research on Christian Democracy) and the Catholic Documentation Center (KDC) organize an international conference at the Radboud University in Nijmegen the Netherlands. This year’s theme will be “Christian Democratic People’s Parties and the Rise of Populism 1940s-2010s”.

The Canada Research Chair in Urban Heritage of Université du Québec à Montréal, in collaboration with the Association québécoise pour le patrimoine industriel (Quebec association for industrial heritage) and with the support of Tourisme Montréal, will be hosting the 2021 TICCIH Congress in Montreal, from August 30th to September 4th, 2021.

The conference will focus on the connections between oral history, collective memory, and individual memory. Whether from a historical, social, or even psychological perspective, we wish to engage scholars in a multidimensional and interdisciplinary approach in order to deeply explore all aspects of this valuable and fascinating area. We are committed to creating a welcoming space for discussion, collaboration, and exploration of oral history’s potential as a tool for local, national and international projects that would enrich and even revise chapters of history.

The emergence of the Black Arts Movement in the US and the influence of the Algerian War of Independence

Thirty years after the fall of communism in Central and Eastern Europe will be marked by the international, multidisciplinary conference called Thirty Years After - Post Communism, Democracy and Illiberalism in Central and Eastern Europe, organized by the Faculty of History, University of Bucharest and its network of academic partners. We would like to invite scholars in History, Political Science, International Relations, Economics or any other related fields to an international conference about the way in which the fall of communism and its inheritance profoundly marked the evolution of Central and Eastern European countries in the past thirty years.

Turning Points seeks to promote collaboration for advancement and new innovative outcomes in a scholarly world where interdisciplinarity is often more important in words than in practice. Turning Points seeks to bring together scholars from different fields in order to promote multilevel and multifaceted approaches -- hoping to engender new collaborations, research project ideas and, of course, future publications.
