Call for Papers

We accept proposals for papers and posters on any topic related to zooarchaeology. We encourage those of you who work with faunal materials and those who study the role of animals in iconography, myths, rituals, etc.

The Postgraduate ZooArchaeology Forum (PZAF) is an excellent opportunity for young researchers in the field to present their work and exchange experience! Founded in 2009 by Richard Madgwick and first held in Cardiff (UK) the PZAF has been growing year after year and was hosted in Paris (France), Sheffield (UK), London (UK), Tarragona (Spain) and Toruń (Poland). The last, 7th PZAF, was held in Palermo (Italy). In October 2017 PZAF became an ICAZ  (International Council for ArchaeoZoology) Affiliated Group.

Today PZAF is an internationally recognized conference with delegates from various countries. In 2019, for the first time in the conference’s history, PZAF will take place outside of Europe. The present host-city is Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.
