Call for Papers

What do you think of when you get behind the wheel of a vehicle? The car will drive itself? It will automatically take us where we want to go? Or maybe someone else needs to provide it with the directions, and inputs, that’s needed to get us where we want to be. Can we relate that to our work? Our industry? Where do we want the industry to go? Is it up to others to get us there? Can we drive the direction of our industry… should we? How can we? We all have the ability to drive the future direction of our industry… but do we?  

The theme of our 2018 SCAA Conference is “The Future is NOW…DRIVE IT” and the goal of this theme is to demonstrate that we all play a role in shaping the future direction of the Surface Coatings Industry whether we’re a supplier, a research organisation, a formulator. The theme underpins the message in our call for papers – how can we as individuals, and organisations, be a driving force behind the future direction of our industry – and how can we do it now.

The SCAA 2018 Committee invites you to submit papers for consideration for the technical program of the conference relating to the idea of driving the future of our industry, and other related goals. Your paper could relate to new technologies, research, applications, methodologies, strategies, ideas or challenges that the industry may face in the future and needs to think about now.

All papers are to be prepared to the level for publication in the standard scientific journal format – commercial names etc. are strongly discouraged with the focus to be on technically relevant information and data. An abstract of the paper, together with details of the author/presenter, should be sent to the Technical committee for perusal prior to the conference. Details of the conference format and delivery of the presentation will be discussed with presenters when the final program has been set.
