About PSCEE2018

The Institute of Political Science of the University of Wroclaw invites students and PhD candidates to submit their proposals for the XIV International Student Conference “Politics & Society in Central and Eastern Europe”, 22 May2018. The conference is designed to enable the presentation of research findings of young researchers interested in current developments in Central and Eastern European politics and societies. The theme for the upcoming conference is “Trust in Political Institutions”. Deadline for submissions: 27 April 2018

Call for Papers

We welcome proposals addressingthe following as well as other topics related to the theme of the conference:

  • regional differences in trust in political institutions in Central and Eastern Europe;
  • the economic recession and trust in political institutions in CEE;
  • the transition of the political system against the trust in the political institutions in CEE
  • trust in political institutions in CEE in the postmodern era;
  • role of political institutions in the generalization of trust;
  • the effect of e-governance on trust in the government;
  • trust in the government, the parliament and the political parties in CEE;
  • trust in political institutions such as free speech, participation, authority, private property in CEE;
  • trust in international and transnational political institutions in CEE;
  • alternative political institutions in CEE;
  • consequences of (lack of) trust in political institutions for civil societies in CEE;
  • historical perspectives on trust in political institutions in CEE;
  • relations between trust and obedience;
  • trust in political institutions in education and socialization processes in CEE;
  • methodological issues in studyingtrust in political institutions.

To submit a proposal, please send anemail to political.science@uwr.edu.pl with the following information:

  • participant(s) name(s), title or level of studies and affiliation;
  • a title of the presentation;
  • a short abstract of the paper (up to 200 words).

Additional information:

  • no participation/attendance fee;
  • participants are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses;
  • participants will be awarded certificates confirming presentation of a paper;
  • If accepted, the papers will be published in Polish Political Science Review.
