Industrial automation plays an increasingly important role in today’ s world economy. From automated video surveillance to highway systems to the manufacturing sector to home automation, the field of automation has tremendous applications and impact on today’s daily life. When the industrial automation was decided as the focal theme of the conference, the tools/algorithm/ system associated with the automation process, namely, ANN, distributed control systems, HMI, SCADA, PLC, PAC came to our mind in tandem. These tools invariably utilise a lot of control techniques, which in turn, require huge computational skills.
