About Conference on Peace and Security

With a long history of armed conflicts and insecurity in Uganda and the entire Great Lakes Region,Uganda Peace Foundation is organising an International Conference on Peace and Security.The purpose of the event is to craft concrete practical solutions to prevent conflicts and insecurity including terrorism in the region and the entire world.Relative to terrorism if we can generate solutions in harmony with what the former US President George W.Bush said, it would be a big success.He said,"......I think you can create condtions so that those who use terror as a tool are less acceptable in parts of the world."(Bush,2004).

There is an opportunity for papers to be published in reputable journals. 

With the ever increasing global challenges of armed conflicts and insecurity including terrorism,climate change,poverty, hunger, the refugee crisis in the Occidental countries,Internally Displaced Persons(IDPs),and HIV/AIDs which has been recognised by the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1308 of 2000 as an international security threat there is an urgent need to generate concrete practical solutions to overcome these global menaces.As the entire global family let us come together and resolve these challenges,the outcry is loud and clear.
