Call for Papers

The elderly population is increasing globally. Challenges/issues occur in relation to increasing elderly population. Actions are implemented to face those challenges/issues. Geriatrics/Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology were identified to meet the challenges and provide quality care services for the elderly. Geriatric Medicine is a specialty that focuses on medical issues and diseases of aging. It is a medical specialty focused on the care and treatment of older persons.

Gerontology addresses aging across the life course. It encompasses the social, psychological, cognitive, cultural and biological aspects of the elderly. Gerontology covers a multidisciplinary field and it is applied to a variety of both careers and professions.

Although gerontology and geriatrics have differing emphases, they both have the goal of understanding aging so that people can maximize their functioning and achieve a high quality of life.
