A new era for mining in Africa has occurred and Kenya is the perfect destination for the Eastern African Mining and Energy Conference taking place on the 15th – 17th October 2019 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya.

As commodity prices rise, the East Africa region presents a relatively underexplored mining jurisdiction with vast potential.

Regional infrastructure development, especially key transport links between East African countries, also strengthen the position of the region to become a strategic hub due to its proximity to global markets.

On the Energy side, with the latest onshore Oil discoveries in Kenya and Uganda and offshore gas discoveries in Tanzania and Mozambique, the region has attracted significant foreign investment in developing the necessary infrastructure. At the same time, East Africa has made significant progress in increasing access to electricity to its people, fuelled by an investment surge in renewable energy projects.
