About BTL2018

School of Architecture, REVA University is proud to announce that it will be organizing an international conference ‘Between the Lines’ on Architecture and Planning on 17th and 18th August 2018. The main aim of the conference is to find a middle path where academics and practice can converge through a healthy debate between the participants. Eminent speakers include Dr. Kaung-Hui Peng, Dean, National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT), Taiwan; Dr. Ken Yeang, Principal Architect, T.R. Hamzah & Yeang Sdn. Bhd. Malaysia; Mr. Palinda Kannangara, Principal Architect, Palinda Kannangara AIA, Sri Lanka and many more.

Call for Papers

We invite high quality research contributions describing original and unpublished results of conceptual, constructive, empirical, experimental, or theoretical work in the fields of architecture and urban planning. The conference solicits contributions of abstracts, papers and e-posters that address the following tracks but are not limited to: 

 

TRACK-1: Critical appreciation of the past- Narratives on historical buildings, settlements and practices

TRACK-2: Architecture without architects- critical learnings from local and vernacular experiences in built environment

TRACK-3: Building with the times- Innovations in building and construction technology including structural systems, skins, facades, construction details etc.

TRACK-4: Reimagining cities- Discourses on the present and future state of our cities.  Micro level studies on identifiable units of the city are also welcome.

TRACK-5: Let’s theorize- Theories related to architecture, planning, environment and pedagogy in the above subjects.

TRACK -6: An Assessment of the Sustainable Practice in Architecture in India-How much has it impacted the environment in measurable terms.

Track -7: Global economic changes-How will it impact the quality of Architecture Globally?
