COURSE DESCRIPTION: The 13th Annual Orthopaedics for the Primary Care Practitioner And Rehabilitation Therapist is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the most current diagnostic and treatment options in the orthopaedic sub-specialties. A distinguished faculty will present recent advances in trauma and fracture fixation, arthritis management, joint reconstruction, treatment of sports-related conditions, spine surgery, hand and upper extremity evaluation and management, and physical therapy. Participants will be given ample time for interactive discussions and opportunities to interact with faculty, plus hands-on workshops.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Primary care practitioners, physicians, fellows, residents, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals whose scope of practice includes shoulder and elbow surgery.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

- Describe common musculoskeletal conditions

- Discuss updates in treatment of common orthopaedic injuries

- Assess appropriate diagnostic imaging tests

- Understand indications for referral to a specialist with regard to hip and knee disorders

- Apply new approaches to relieve pain and improve function in patients with orthopaedic injuries

- Evaluate existing therapies to enhance treatment
